A message from me...
When I was 19, I developed chronic fatigue syndrome and lost my voice. My muscles had been weakened and this included my vocal cords. After training for 14 years, I suddenly couldn't sing more than a few notes without pain and fatigue. I was worried I would never sound the way I wanted to. But I worked with several vocal coaches and took a course in speech production to develop a holistic method of singing that can meet my voice where it is on any given day. Flash forward to now and, though I still deal with chronic health conditions, my voice is stronger than ever. This experience is the bedrock of my teaching practice today.
